Integrated planning of manufacturing and delivery for windows, doors, and roller shutters

Stolcad Professional - Integrated planning of manufacturing and delivery for windows, doors, and roller shutters

Precise production planning, control of production line workload and efficient organisation of transportation

Companies manufacturing windows, doors and roller shutters today must not only complete orders on time, but also efficiently plan production, manage line workloads and precisely organise deliveries of finished products. The Production Planning And Logistics Module supports manufacturers in fully synchronising these processes. It is a comprehensive IT solution with a wide range of benefits:
  • Accurately scheduling order execution timelines
  • Taking into account the availability of materials and machinery, as well as component delivery lead times
  • Full control of production line capacity and workload
  • More efficient organisation of transport
  • Better cooperation between production, logistics and sales
  • Automatic generation of production and transport documentation
The Production Planning And Logistics Module comprises three closely cooperating modules:

Planner Module

Stolcad Professional - comprehensive planning of joinery production
Intelligent day-by-day production planning
The Planner Module is responsible for intelligent calculation of order completion dates based on the company's actual production capabilities. The system takes into account available production capacity, current workforce workload, planned days off, technological breaks and the current order status, and on this basis automatically determines the completion date for each structure. As a result, the manufacturer gains confidence that the calculated dates are realistic and achievable. This improves communication with the sales department and enables reliable information to be provided to customers about the expected completion date of their orders.
The module enables the creation of a detailed production calendar that takes into account shift work, non-collection days, holidays, public holidays, etc. Each shift and each production line can have individually defined efficiency, which makes it possible to fully reflect the actual production capacity on a given day. A precisely configured calendar allows the real working rhythm of the plant to be described. The system continuously balances planned orders against available units, ensuring smooth production flow. As a result, work is evenly distributed and product manufacturing becomes more predictable.

Taking materials and delivery times into account

The Planner Module takes into account waiting times for profiles, glass units, fittings, goods and other components necessary to fulfil orders. An individual lead time can be defined for each element, which is automatically added to the production schedule. As a result, the system accepts for execution only those orders for which a complete set of required materials is available.

Time buffers and production reserves

The module allows the definition of reserves in days and window units that act as a safety buffer for production. Such reserves are automatically taken into account when calculating completion dates. Benefiting from buffers, the company can protect itself against unforeseen events, delivery delays or a sudden increase in the number of orders.

Transferring dates to orders and the sales department

The calculated planned completion dates are automatically synchronised with orders, ensuring that deadline information is always up to date throughout Stolcad® Professional. Changes in the production schedule are immediately reflected in order data, allowing sales staff to provide customers with reliable information straight away without the need to contact production.
Users of Dealer Professional programs or Stolcad® Webshop platform can additionally make planned completion and delivery dates available directly to their sales intermediaries and partners. This solution significantly reduces the workload of production and customer service departments related to on-going deadline enquiries, as this data can be available to users in real time.

Production Planning Module

Stolcad Professional automatically divides orders between production lines

Precise allocation of orders to window, door or roller shutter production lines

Modern joinery production requires not only efficient machinery, but above all perfectly planned work organisation. The Production Planning Module is a tool that allows full control over how orders are allocated to specific production lines, balances their workload and effectively eliminates downtime and bottlenecks on the shop floor. The module has been designed with real production plant conditions in mind. It enables different technologies, types of structures, shapes, dimensions and the specifics of individual workstations to be taken into account. As a result, production runs smoothly and predictably.

The key benefits of the Production Planning Module

  • Configuration of production lines and automatic assignment of orders with windows, doors and roller shutters to the appropriate lines
  • Even workload distribution and elimination of downtime
  • Full control over dimensions, shapes and production technology

Configuration of production lines tailored to the realities of the plant

Each production plant has a different work structure, different technologies and varied workstations. The module allows the creation of any number of production lines and the precise mapping in the system of how production is carried out. Lines may correspond both to complete technological sequences (e.g. window frames and sashes) and to different products (e.g. PVC windows, doors, non-standard structures or oversized elements).
For each line, specific technologies can be assigned, their purpose defined and the method of assigning structures specified. The tool takes into account, among others:
  • type of material (PVC, wood, aluminium),
  • non-standard shapes (arches, slants, angled structures),
  • oversized dimensions,
  • types of structures (e.g. roller shutters, doors or large-scale constructions).

Automatic allocation of orders to appropriate production lines

One of the key functions of the module is the intelligent, automatic allocation of windows, doors and roller shutters to individual production lines. The system analyses the technical parameters of each product and assigns it to the appropriate production sequence. As a result:
  • non-standard structures do not block standard production,
  • oversized elements are directed to appropriate workstations,
  • doors, roller shutters and windows can be produced in parallel on independent lines,
  • production workload is evenly distributed.

Visualisation of production workload

The module provides a clear real-time visualisation of the workload of individual production lines. The production manager can see exactly how many window units have been assigned to each line and what percentage of available production capacity has already been used. This makes it possible to quickly identify overloads, downtime and unused production reserves. With this information, it is possible to respond on an on-going basis to changes in the plan, shift production between lines and make informed decisions regarding work organisation. Production becomes predictable, and the team gains greater control over order execution.

Transportation Module

Logistics tailored to the production method
Stolcad Professional adapts logistics to the applied production method

Organization of transport "to production" and "from the warehouse"

The Transportation module enables the preparation of shipments in two ways – directly for on-going production or from finished products already stored in the warehouse. "To production" transports make it possible to plan the manufacturing of windows and doors precisely for specific shipments, without the need for intermediate storage. In turn, "from warehouse" transports enable flexible consolidation of shipments from already manufactured units.
This approach gives the company full freedom in managing logistics – regardless of the adopted work organisation model. Our software adapts to the selected working variant by offering two independent shipment handling mechanisms. Production can be aligned with planned departures, and finished products can be efficiently divided into smaller batches tailored to actual transport capacity.

Comprehensive assignment of drivers, vehicles and time frames

Each transport can be precisely described by assigning a driver and a vehicle, as well as departure times and additional organisational information. The program enables management of a database of drivers and vehicles. All data is automatically transferred to the relevant transport documents, including transport lists and WZ documents. This functionality is complemented by the Mounting Assembly Module, which ensures control over elements that are not assembled during production but must be included in the loading and shipping process.

Precise control of loading and handling of routes

The module allows precise control over which windows, doors and roller shutters are to be included in a specific shipment. The user can compile transport both from entire orders and from individual items, which is important for large projects spread over several shipments. The software also allows the order of recipients on the transport list to be defined, which directly affects delivery efficiency in the field. In addition, it enables the assignment of transport routes to recipients and orders. Routes can be used to filter orders, plan delivery sequences and optimise entire journeys.
