In our company, we constantly make sure that our IT solutions are in line with the current trends. Bearing in mind the fact that more and more companies in the joinery industry specialize in the production of glass partition walls, in 2021 we adapted and implemented Stolcad® Professional to cater for the needs of this technology.

Guarantee of technological correctness

The basis of properly designed glass walls is a correctly configured technological base. Stolcad® Professional, with its appropriate settings, can automatically select the right elements and calculate their length. In the case of wide constructions, the program properly optimizes the profiles by preparing a list of cuts.
During the work, a user sees tips on how to prepare a design of the wall so that it complies with the accepted standards. It is worth emphasizing that thanks to its appropriately configured database, the program will automatically check the technological correctness of the designed structures.

Designing aluminium glass walls

Designing aluminium glass walls, because of their complexity is slightly different from designing typical windows or doors. The new functions in Stolcad® Professional made the entire process easy like never before. Designing partition walls takes place in several stages. Individual elements of the construction are placed on dedicated layers of walls, frames and sashes. The design process begins with determining the dimensions of the entire glass wall and inserting the appropriate partitions. It is worth noting that Stolcad® Professional allows you to graphically distinguish each type of division by changing the colour and type of line (dashed, dotted, solid).
Next, frames are placed in appropriate places on a given wall. The possibility of turning corners or replacing profiles is invaluable while drawing. Their use allows, among others, for inserting clearances and integrating the door frames to the full height of the walls. In Stolcad® Professional you can save typical wall constructions to the so-called schemas i.e. libraries of ready-made projects. Regardless of whether the structure is designed from the sketch or read from a schema, it is fully modifiable. At any time you can change the dimensions of individual parts of the construction or even redesign the entire drawing.

Glazing of aluminium walls

After adding profile elements, the program allows you to proceed to the selection of glazing. It is worth distinguishing this design stage, because glass fillings are the main component of glass partition walls. Stolcad® Professional allows you to conveniently assemble glass panels and inter-pane frames. It allows for dynamic selection of glass depending on the inner, middle or outer layer. Alternatively, you can also insert the ready-made packages of single, double or triple glazing. It is worth remembering that the program offers assigning colours to individual panes, which makes it easier to distinguish types of fillings and speeds up the daily work of the sales department.
Based on the thickness of the glazing package, Stolcad® Professional indicates an appropriate additional element that matches this package, e.g. the appropriate connector (narrower or wider). The program also automatically selects glazing beads. When working with vertical or horizontal divisions, it is possible to limit the counting of the strip in the situations where two glass packages are joined together (H-type gasket). One can also set a maximum application area for each glass package used. What is more, the program lets you disable the feature of glazing selected profile packages (walls, frame, sashes), if necessary.

There are many factors contributing to the price of partition walls such as size, types of elements used, services. Stolcad® Professional allows users to have various price configurations. Prices can be assigned to elements, in the general program configuration, to specific recipients, as well as in the personal settings to selected positions. Also, the program enables the use of price lists, which are assigned to the schemas of constructions.
The user has numerous options for applying discounts or mark-ups, as well as other price modifications. With such features, you can quickly update your prices to the changing market conditions. Regardless of the selected method of valuation, the program automates the process of preparing offers in various variants. Additionally, Stolcad® Professional allows using customized offer templates with an individual graphical design.
